Autumn Foliage at Engaku-ji Temple
This renowned Zen temple in Kamakura, also known as Mount Zuika, offers picturesque scenery year-round—from cherry blossoms in spring and hydrangeas in summer to vibrant foliage in autumn. During the fall, ginkgo and maple trees create a brilliant display of color. At Bentendo Hall, located up the stairs, visitors can see the temple's national treasure bell, and enjoy traditional sweets such as matcha, amazake, and rice dumplings at the nearby teahouse. The best time for autumn leaves is typically from mid-November to early December, making this one of Kamakura's most famous spots for viewing fall foliage.
