Autumn Leaves in Hakone (Gora)
The autumn foliage in Hakone, Kanagawa Prefecture, begins at Lake Ashi and moves to Sengokuhara, Gora, and Kowakudani. One of the most beautiful locations is the Hakone Museum of Art in Gora, where autumn colors highlight the moss and bamboo gardens. Gora Park is also renowned for its views of maple trees planted around the fountain and the thatched-roof tea house, creating picturesque scenery. The blooming autumn roses add another attraction within the park. The freely accessible Horai Garden is also famous for its autumn leaves, which are at their best in mid-November. Note: The Hakone Museum of Art is closed for renovations until October 29, 2026.
