Autumn Leaves at Horai Garden, Hakone Kowakien
This garden, adjacent to Mikawaya Ryokan in Hakone Kowakien, Kanagawa Prefecture, was created in the early Taisho era by Kyozo Enomoto, founder of Mikawaya Ryokan. He relocated azaleas from Okubo Park in Tokyo to create what became known as the 'Azalea Garden,' named after the mountain behind the ryokan. While the site is famous for its azalea and satsuki flowers, its autumn scenery is also a highlight. Visitors can enjoy brilliant fall colors from a variety of maple trees against the backdrop of the Hakone mountains.
