Sankeien Garden, established in 1906 by businessman Tomitaro Hara (art name Sanke), is a traditional Japanese garden covering 175,000 square meters. The grounds feature numerous historic buildings relocated from Kyoto, Kamakura, and other locations. From mid-November to mid-December, the ginkgo, Japanese maple, and other trees display beautiful autumn colors throughout the garden. The area around Choshukaku and the Old Tenzuiji Temple Pagoda Hall in the inner garden is especially stunning. Visitors can enjoy autumn scenery with the atmosphere of an ancient city right in Yokohama.
