Yachimata Shrine Grand Festival / Around Yachimata Station South Exit
November 7, 2026
The Yachimata Shrine Grand Festival is held as an accompanying event to the shrine's annual rites and features a procession of six distinct parade floats and portable shrines. The festival's music is a lively mix of styles from various regions, incorporating different traditions from Sawara, Asahi, Yokaichiba, and Sakura, with some groups blending multiple musical influences. Over 100 food and game stalls will line the area around the south exit of JR Yachimata Station, with floats passing right by them. On Sunday the 8th, the mikoshi (portable shrine) also joins the parade, and in the evening, the floats and stalls gather at the station's south exit for a festive showcase of music and dance. Held as the last major festival of the year in the northern Chiba region, the Yachimata Shrine Grand Festival is not to be missed. Visitors are encouraged to use public transportation to attend the event.
