Tochigi Autumn Festival

Traditional festival floats adorned with elaborate dolls parade through Tochigi City, along the historic Uzuma River and its old warehouse districts. These floats, masterpieces of fine arts and crafts, are decorated with lavish gold and silver embroidery. The festival features musical showdowns where floats face off, as well as enchanting nighttime scenes illuminated by lanterns. Held every two years, the event showcases splendid Edo-style doll floats from the Edo and Meiji eras, making their way through the streets that symbolize Tochigi City's heritage.
