The Tokyo Philharmonic Symphony Orchestra's annual New Year concert is held as the final New Year performance at Bunkamura Orchard Hall before the building closes for renovation. Conducted by Kensho Watanabe with host Satoshi Asaoka, the programme includes works such as the Die Fledermaus overture, Tchaikovsky's Violin Concerto and Ravel's Boléro, with soloists differing by day. Audience voting helps decide some of the pieces performed, and a prize draw includes the chance to conduct the orchestra.
