Folk Performance in Toshima 2026: Zoshigaya Oeshiki Lecture & Workshop

Experience a night in Zoshigaya filled with flowers and music. On October 16–18 each year, Mandō Processions are held at Hokyozan Homyoji Temple and Zoshigaya Kishimojin Hall, where dozens of flower lanterns, drum groups, banners, and hand gongs parade through the streets, creating a moving spectacle best understood by joining in. Learn about the Oeshiki festival and try out the ceremonial drumming at Minami-Ikebukuro Elementary School gymnasium, then join the parade on the night of the 17th!
