From November 1 to November 15, 2026, the Hakone Yunohana Prince Hotel will host the 'Wishes for Independence and Stability – Kamaboko Board Votive Event.' Inspired by the kamaboko board, which firmly supports traditional fish cakes, this participatory event invites guests to write their wishes for personal independence, stability in life or work, and similar aspirations on a kamaboko board. These boards can then be offered at a special display or taken home as a travel memento. This initiative, which reuses kamaboko boards from the Odawara and Hakone region’s cherished food traditions, aims to connect local food culture with tourism. Participation is free for hotel visitors. The hotel primarily uses kamaboko from Kagosei Co., a company preserving the region’s kamaboko-making traditions for over 210 years since its founding in 1814.
