Autumn Foliage at Umegashima Hot Springs
Located in the mountains along the upper reaches of the Abe River in Shizuoka Prefecture, Umegashima Hot Springs is renowned both for its skin-beautifying waters and as a prime spot to view autumn leaves. Nearby, visitors can also see the area's largest waterfall, Abe-no-Otaki, which is listed among Japan's top 100 waterfalls, as well as other scenic spots such as Sandan-no-Taki, a three-tiered waterfall, Koiga-no-Taki, Akamizu-no-Taki, and Hozuki-no-Taki. The abundance of maple trees in the area creates a stunning landscape in autumn, where you can enjoy walks around the hot springs and admire the vibrant foliage alongside dramatic waterfalls.
