Best Time to See Fall Foliage: Ikawa Suspension Bridge
November 1–20, 2026
This 258-meter-long suspension bridge spans Lake Ikawa and is 2 meters wide, allowing standard cars to cross. From your car, you can view Lake Ikawa and Mt. Kamikouchidake in the Southern Alps—though be sure to keep your eyes on the road! Suspended about 60 meters above the water, the crossing is a real thrill. Driving over a suspension bridge is a rare experience, especially with beautiful autumn leaves, so it’s the perfect season to try it. Please note: the bridge is too narrow for cars to pass each other, so vehicles must cross one at a time.
