October 1 – November 30, 2026
Free entry
Located north of Lake Shoji, Ashigawa Gorge is fed by a clear stream flowing from the 1,793-meter Mount Kurodake. Known for wild trout and yamame fishing, the area preserves its untouched natural beauty. Visitors can enjoy many scenic spots such as Senba Falls and Yutsubo-no-Kama, as well as the striking contrast between the clear waters and vibrant autumn foliage from maple, oak, lacquer, and sawtooth oak trees.
