Autumn Leaves at Ryotanji Temple
Ryotanji Temple in Hamamatsu, Shizuoka Prefecture is associated with Lady Jiro (Ii Naotora). The nationally designated scenic garden, designed by Enshu Kobori, features strikingly red enkianthus shrubs that are at their best from mid-November to early December. The contrast between the lush green moss and satsuki azaleas with the vivid red shrubs creates a beautiful scene. From November 27 to 29, 2026, there will be a special nighttime opening of the autumn garden. Please check the official website for details and updates.
