Autumn Leaves at Rakuseki
November 1–30, 2026
Free entry
Rakuseki, located on the east bank of the Naka River in Tochigi Prefecture, is a scenic spot often called the 'Arashiyama of the Kanto region.' From early to late November each year, the area is beautifully colored by maple and zelkova trees in their autumn glory. Visitors can enjoy views of old and new bridges spanning the river. Karasuyama Bridge, opened in 2000, is a popular viewpoint that offers sweeping vistas of the colorful mountains and the river. The Sakai Bridge, built in 1937 and recognized as a civil engineering heritage site, provides a unique blend of history and natural beauty, making the landscape of autumn leaves and historic bridge especially captivating.
