Autumn Foliage at Showa Memorial Park
The park features two avenues lined with ginkgo trees: the 'Katarai Ginkgo Avenue' (98 trees over 300 meters) and the 'Canal Ginkgo Avenue' near the Tachikawa entrance (106 trees over 200 meters). During the autumn season, these rows of trees form stunning golden tunnels that are popular viewing spots. In the Japanese Garden, around 300 maple trees turn vibrant shades of red. Elsewhere throughout the park, broadleaf trees such as zelkovas, katsuras, and Chinese tallow trees also change color, adding a variety of hues to the landscape. Visitors can enjoy both the golden and red autumn leaves in different areas, fully experiencing the season. The park will also host the 'Ginkgo and Maple Festival 2026' from October 29 to November 29 (9:30 AM to 4:30 PM).
