Autumn Foliage at Shinsei Lake
Shinsei Lake was formed when a stream was dammed by the Great Kanto Earthquake in 1923. This small lake, which takes about 20 minutes to walk around, became a National Registered Monument in March 2021. There are hiking trails that offer expanding views as you climb, including vistas of downtown Hadano and the Tanzawa mountain range. Cherry blossoms can be enjoyed in spring and colorful foliage in autumn. Note: From late October 2024 until construction is complete, the views near the drum bridge may differ from usual due to replacement works. Part of the walking path will be closed, and the plaza will be unavailable. Please check the official website for details.
