Autumn Foliage at Nikko Botanical Garden
October 1 – November 29, 2026
¥500
Nikko Botanical Garden, an affiliate of the University of Tokyo's Graduate School of Science, features a beautiful progression of autumn colors, starting with cherry trees in early October, followed by golden leaves from katsura, witch hazel, beech, and oak. By late October, maples and azaleas bring vibrant red hues, offering visitors a sensory experience of leaves' colors, shapes, and scents. A guided tour is scheduled for November 8 at 1:30 p.m., highlighting the best viewing spots and ways to enjoy the foliage. In recent years, peak viewing has been shifting later, now typically occurring in early November.
