Autumn Foliage at Mount Mitake
Standing at 929 meters, Mount Mitake attracts many hikers from the surrounding areas and is also renowned as a spiritual power spot with a history of mountain worship. A cable car takes visitors close to the summit, making it easy to enjoy sweeping autumn views. The Rock Garden hiking trail, which follows a stream from Tengu Rock to Ayahiro Falls and passes through moss-covered boulders, is especially recommended for autumn leaf viewing. Highlights also include the pilgrimage path to Musashi Mitake Shrine at the summit and scenic vistas from Nagao-daira.
