Jinnoji Temple, founded by the legendary Prince Shotoku, is one of the oldest and most revered temples in the Kanto region. Renowned as a prime spot for autumn leaves, the temple becomes lively with visitors during peak season. The grounds are beautifully colored by maples and ginkgo trees, with the vivid red maples being especially stunning. The combination of vibrant autumn foliage and the temple’s historic halls provides a memorable experience. This year, the temple will be illuminated on Fridays and Saturdays from November 20 to December 5. Entry is allowed until 6:00 p.m., with the gates closing completely at 6:30 p.m. A visit to the Kujukutani Valley Observation Park, registered as one of Chiba Prefecture’s Top 100 Scenic Views, is also recommended for its breathtaking panoramic vistas.
