54th Kichijoji Autumn Festival

Held in conjunction with the annual grand festival at Musashino Hachiman Shrine, the Kichijoji Autumn Festival features a colorful parade with a priest on horseback leading the shrine’s mikoshi portable shrine through the local shopping streets. Highlights include the main mikoshi procession entering the shrine on Sunday, and an impressive gathering of all 11 mikoshi at the station-front Heiwa-dori, where processions from different neighborhoods converge and perform. Throughout the two days, various community groups also parade their own mikoshi along their chosen routes, making for a lively and engaging event.
