Japanese Peking Opera Arts Festival 2026

Hosted by Shinchou Opera Troupe, which has focused on training Peking Opera performers since its founding, this annual festival features performances by both Japanese and Chinese residents of Japan studying Peking Opera. Enjoy live musical accompaniment by the Hasakurakura Music Ensemble and a special Peking Opera lecture by Meiji University professor Toru Kato. The festival also includes a hands-on Peking Opera workshop and an introductory lecture for beginners on the same day. Don’t miss this celebration of Peking Opera in Japan.
