Wajima Lacquerware Exhibition and Experience in Kagurazaka 2026 Autumn

This event is inspired by the traditional practice of 'tabiiki,' where Wajima lacquerware artisans traveled to various regions to deliver their wares, a custom dating back to the Edo period. With over 500 years of history, the renowned Wajima lacquerware is showcased in Kagurazaka through exhibitions and sales. Artisans will be available for custom orders, repairs, and rentals, offering guidance on all aspects of lacquerware. Special programs include workshops, morning tea gatherings, and tastings of local sake. Attendees can also observe demonstrations of traditional craftsmanship.
