Why USA!? - Super Smile! German Village Goes American / Tokyo German Village

The signature winter event at Tokyo German Village is its spectacular winter illumination. As night falls, around three million lights transform the sprawling grounds into a romantic wonderland, offering a dramatic contrast to the pastoral daytime atmosphere. In 2026, the park celebrates its 25th anniversary alongside the United States’ 250th anniversary, marking a memorable milestone year. Embracing the spirit of challenge, the German Village will dynamically showcase the vibrant world of American freedom and entertainment through lights across its expansive South Boso location. This year’s theme focuses entirely on the excitement of American culture—music, film, street culture, space science, and entertainment—brought to life with dazzling lights and interactive experiences, deliberately avoiding political or current events. *Photos are artist’s impressions and may include images from previous years.
