This exhibition explores the history of Venetian glass as depicted in Western paintings, featuring masterpieces from the Hakone Glass Forest Museum’s collection. Around 100 pieces of Venetian glass are displayed alongside 22 reproductions of celebrated paintings, providing dual perspectives of art and craftsmanship. The display reveals how glassware was developed in European culture and became coveted by royalty and artists alike. The exhibition also delves into the history of Venetian glassmaking, including reconstructions of legendary vases and demonstrations of historical techniques.
