This year marks the 100th anniversary of the birth of Queen Elizabeth II of the United Kingdom (1926–2022), who passed away four years ago at the age of 96. Was the monarch, often described as 'reigning but not ruling,' merely a ceremonial figurehead in British politics? This lecture explores the true role of the queen, who held the longest reign in British history at 70 years. Lecturer: Naotaka Kimizuka (Historian and Professor at Komazawa University).
