Celebrating its 8th year in 2026, the Kawachi Illumination lights up Kawachi Water and Green Interaction Park with over 500,000 LED lights. Along the walking path encircling Fudomen Marsh in the park, the illumination expresses the four seasons of Kawachi Town in Ibaraki Prefecture. The spring area features cherry blossoms and fresh green embankments; the summer area highlights hydrangea lights, the town's flower; the autumn area showcases rice ear lights representing Kawachi, known for its rice production, alongside an illuminated display of 'Kawachimaru,' the town's mascot; and the winter area impresses with illuminated 20-meter-tall trees. As a winter tradition aiming to foster local community vibrancy and warmly welcome visitors, Kawachi Illumination continues to connect the future by offering a wonderful gift of light from the rice ear village.
