Kasama Chrysanthemum Festival
October 24 – November 23, 2026
A historic chrysanthemum festival that began in 1908. Centered around Kasama Inari Shrine, the event features around 5,000 pots of chrysanthemums displayed throughout Kasama City in Ibaraki Prefecture. Visitors can enjoy a variety of chrysanthemum-themed events, including a flower exhibition and competition by the Ibaraki Chrysanthemum Association, a display of chrysanthemum dolls, and decorative basins with floating chrysanthemums. Traditional ceremonies and performances, such as horseback archery and ritual martial arts demonstrations, will also take place. The event offers photo spots like an umbrella sky of colorful Japanese parasols at the shrine and limited-edition festival stamps.
