KAAT Kanagawa Arts Theatre Presents: 'The Jazz Lord'

Set in the late Edo period, this fantastical comedy follows a music-loving feudal lord who encounters Black slaves who have drifted ashore from America. Captivated by their music, he initiates jam sessions within his castle. The 2023 premiere transformed the original Kyushu setting to the real-life Ogino-Yamanaka domain, a branch of the Odawara clan in Kanagawa, creating a unique, original KAAT production.
