Shinichiro Koromo: Haniwa and Cylinders
October 8 – November 2, 2026
Shinichiro Koromo creates paintings and sculptures inspired by the landscapes of his native Gunma, where he still lives. Through repeatedly observing, walking, and interacting with the local tombs, mountains, people, and haniwa clay figures, he expresses the layered memories and passage of time from multiple perspectives and scales. Koromo, who sees similarities between landscapes and still lifes because both require observation from many angles, focuses on haniwa in this exhibition.
