This exhibition explores the life and literary career of Haruo Sato (1892–1964), a prominent writer active from the Meiji to Showa periods in fields such as poetry, novels, and essays. Focusing on his rebellious spirit and extensive personal relationships, the exhibition seeks to reveal the true character of Sato as a person. On display are around 400 items, including manuscripts, drafts, personal belongings, letters from contemporaries such as Osamu Dazai, Ryunosuke Akutagawa, Junichiro Tanizaki, and Daigaku Horiguchi, as well as Sato's own oil paintings and book cover designs.
