Game Meat Butchering Workshop at Tateyama Game Meat Center
July 1, 2026 – March 31, 2027
The Tateyama Game Meat Center is a facility in Tateyama City dedicated to processing and selling game meat sourced from animals caught as part of local wildlife management efforts. The center’s signature brand, 'Tateyama Game Meat,' features carefully aged and high-quality products, particularly from wild boar, raised on natural acorns and forest food, resulting in rich, flavorful meat. All processing meets strict hygiene standards set by Chiba Prefecture, ensuring safety and quality. The center offers year-round hands-on workshops for individuals and families, providing a unique opportunity to observe wild boar butchering and foster an appreciation for the origins of food and the value of life.
Event Highlights:
• Wild Boar Butchering Class: A prepared wild boar is used as instructors demonstrate each step of the butchering process, teaching both the techniques involved and the journey of game meat from nature to table. The animals used in the demonstration are not sold or used for consumption.
