Autumn Foliage in the Tanba Gorge
Located in northeastern Yamanashi Prefecture and adjacent to Okutama Town in Tokyo, Tanbayama Village is home to the headwaters of the Tamagawa River and rich natural scenery. The Tanba Gorge winds for about 10 kilometers from the village around the north side of Mount Daibosatsu to Yanagisawa Pass, offering spectacular nature throughout the year. The autumn foliage season, typically from late October to mid-November, is especially beautiful as maple, beech, oak, mountain ash, and lacquer trees color the gorge in vibrant shades.
