Autumn Foliage at Lake Shibire
Lake Shibire, situated 850 meters above sea level and measuring 1.2 kilometers around, is one of Yamanashi Prefecture’s most scenic mountain lakes. Historically, it was revered alongside the Fuji Five Lakes and other notable bodies of water as a sacred site dedicated to dragon deities, forming part of Fuji’s Eight Interior Lakes. In autumn, vibrant foliage gradually blankets the lakeshore and surrounding hillsides, offering a breathtaking view for visitors and campers alike. The area also offers stand-up paddleboarding and cruising tours.
