Storytelling and Shamisen Performance: 'The Ash Man' at Yasuda Residence Garden
Sunday, October 25, 2026
Experience 'The Ash Man,' the final chapter of Naka Saijo's award-winning short story collection 'Kokorobosogawa', performed at the historic Yasuda Residence Garden. Set in an Edo-period tenement along the Kokorogawa River in Sendagi, the story follows the caretaker and an old beggar at Nezu Shrine. The tale, a climax of the Naoki Prize-winning work, will be brought to life through storytelling and Tsugaru shamisen music. Please note: children not yet in school are not admitted.
