National Museum of Japanese History – Special Exhibition: Classical Chrysanthemums of Tradition
November 3–29, 2026
Around 120 varieties of classical chrysanthemums, each with unique regional characteristics, will be displayed along with about 50 original new breeds such as Saga and Higo chrysanthemums grown from seed at the museum (including approximately 30 in trial cultivation). This year’s theme is ‘Reading Chrysanthemum Cultivation Manuals: Pest Control for Chrysanthemums,’ introducing types of pests and traditional prevention methods from Edo-period manuals through informative panels.
