Autumn Leaves at Atami Plum Garden
While best known for its early-blooming plum trees, Atami Plum Garden is also a famous spot for autumn foliage. Around 380 maple trees, including Japanese maple and Musashino varieties, color the park from late November to December thanks to the mild local climate. If you visit in mid-November, you may catch both the early plum blossoms and the autumn leaves at the same time. The observation deck in the center of the garden offers especially good views. During the Atami Plum Garden Maple Festival, the autumn leaves are illuminated at night, attracting many visitors.
