Autumn Foliage on the Watarase Valley Railway

This railway line runs along the Watarase River through Gunma and Tochigi prefectures, offering beautiful views of autumn leaves. From late October, the area around Ashio Station and other parts of the line burst with vibrant fall colors. Mount Koshi is especially scenic, with its slopes turning bright red from maples and rowan trees. Sightseeing trains like the Watarase Valley Trolley and the Wasshi Trolley are also in operation, allowing passengers to enjoy the autumn foliage from the train windows. The best time for viewing is typically from late October to late November each year.
