Located south of the Minakami Hot Springs area in Gunma Prefecture, Suwakyo Gorge features a dramatic landscape of unusual rock formations along the Tone River near Momiji Bridge. The Sasabue Bridge, a 32-meter suspension bridge spanning a 20-meter cliff, offers breathtaking views of the autumn colors on Mount Tanigawa and both riverbanks. A well-maintained riverside walking trail makes it easy to enjoy a leisurely stroll. Typically, the leaves of maples, oaks, and zelkovas begin changing color in late October, with the best viewing period from late October through mid-November.
