Autumn Foliage at Mount Tsukuba
November 1–30, 2026
Free entry
Mount Tsukuba, one of Japan's 100 famous mountains, features two peaks, Nyotai and Nantai, and has a relatively low elevation. The area from the summit to Miyukigahara is covered with deciduous trees such as beech, offering beautiful autumn colors from early November. The foliage around the Miyawaki Cable Car Station, near Tsukuba Shrine, is also stunning. You can reach the summit area easily by cable car or ropeway, in addition to hiking trails.
