October 21 – November 20, 2026
Free entry
Located in Yamanashi City, Yamanashi Prefecture, this dam lake was created upstream on the Fuefuki River, which originates from Mount Kobushigatake and Mount Kokushigatake and flows through Nishizawa Gorge. In autumn, the surrounding mountains are covered in vibrant fall colors, making it a spectacular spot to enjoy the beauty of nature. Trees around the lake turn shades of red, orange, and yellow, and their colors reflect on the clear surface of the water, creating a mesmerizing mirror effect known as 'upside-down foliage.' The contrast between the lake and the autumn leaves is especially stunning in the early morning or late afternoon, offering a magical and atmospheric view.
