Autumn Foliage at Hanazono Gorge
November 1–30, 2026
Free entry
Hanazono Gorge is a nature-rich valley designated as part of the Hanazono-Hanakuni Prefectural Nature Park. It's a popular spot to view vibrant autumn leaves, but also known for rhododendrons in spring and lush greenery in early summer, making it enjoyable year-round. In autumn, the gorge is a picturesque scene with maples, Japanese maples, and beeches turning brilliant shades of red and yellow. Fallen leaves drift over the stream, creating a distinctly autumnal atmosphere and making it a great location for photography. Please note that some paths are narrow, so caution is advised when walking.
