9th National Kimchi Grand Prix

Kimchi creators from across Japan submit their best recipes, which go through a preliminary screening. Around 300 event attendees then taste the finalists and vote to select the Grand Prix winner. The 9th edition will be held as part of the Hidaka Citizens' Festival in Saitama Prefecture, an area with strong ties to the Korean Peninsula. In past years, the event has drawn large crowds, with long lines for tastings. Participants from all over the country are being recruited.
