41st Chofu Fireworks
Saturday, September 12, 2026
Chofu's fireworks tradition dates back to 1933. Although interrupted during World War II, the event quickly revived after the war, and from 1954 it was held 14 times as the All Japan Export Promotion Fireworks Competition. Known for its beauty and grandeur, it is considered one of the top fireworks festivals in Japan. In 2026, the festival will celebrate a new chapter with features like the traditional Hanabi Ryugetsu, the spectacular 50-shot big firework barrage, the high-quality Takumi fireworks, and a grand star mine with up to 8-inch shells, totaling around 10,000 fireworks.
