Peking Opera Experience Workshop at Japanese Peking Opera Arts Festival 2026

Before the day's performance, a hands-on 'Peking Opera Experience Workshop' will be held to bring participants closer to the art of Peking Opera. Led by Japanese Peking Opera actor Umei Cho, the morning workshop allows you to view elaborate costumes and props up close, and try out the distinctive movements and simple stage actions unique to Peking Opera. Discover the appeal of the art form by moving your own body rather than just watching. Before the performance in the afternoon, there will also be an introductory lecture for beginners. Take part to enjoy the performance even more!
