An awareness event along the Hoshikawa River in Kumagaya City focused on breast and cervical cancer, highlighting the importance of understanding and early screenings. Lighting ceremonies for the Hoshikawa Illumination are held on October 10 in pink for breast cancer awareness and on November 14 in teal and white for cervical cancer awareness. The event features luminaria bags with messages from local junior high students, dance performances, a message tree where visitors can tie ribbons with their thoughts, and other activities to inspire reflection on health issues through light.
