Gallery KIDO Press is pleased to present “—真南風/MAHAE—” by Yoshiro Takasaki, who currently lives and works in Naha, Okinawa, from Saturday, August 22, to Sunday, September 27, 2026. Yoshiro Takasaki employs a mixed-media technique combining painting and printmaking—primarily silkscreen—to create works centered on the traces of time and memory etched into a place. He expresses the landscapes and memories of the land he encountered while living in Okinawa, as well as the layers of history stretching from the postwar era to the present by layering different media. Centered on Mahae—the title of the exhibition—this exhibition presents works inspired by Okinawa’s unique climate and natural beauty, while reflecting on the region’s history and daily lives of its people that underline them.
