What Cafe Exhibition Vol. 47: Special Curated Exhibition with Noboru Tsubaki "u.n.l.o.c.k. tube++"

Contemporary artist and Kyoto University of the Arts professor Noboru Tsubaki joins What Cafe as guest curator for this special exhibition. Known for championing emerging artists through initiatives including the artist-led art fair Artists' Fair Kyoto, Tsubaki has long explored new ways of connecting art, society and the circulation of artworks. Bringing together Tsubaki's curatorial vision and What Cafe's ongoing support for emerging artists, the exhibition highlights a shared commitment to fostering the next generation of contemporary art. Featuring works by 37 artists selected by Tsubaki and What Cafe, the exhibition spans Nihonga, oil painting, photography, ceramics, glass and installation. Presenting a wide range of artistic practices, it offers visitors the opportunity to discover a first artwork to collect while exploring the many ways art can become part of everyday life. This exhibition is presented as part of Tennoz Art Week 2026.
