Yoichi Ochiai x Japan Philharmonic Orchestra Project Vol.10: 'A Concert from a Detached Perspective'
The tenth concert in media artist Yoichi Ochiai's project with the Japan Philharmonic Orchestra moves the orchestra onto a Noh stage at Yokohama Nohgaku Hall. Members of the orchestra perform alongside Noh performers and Noh musicians, with Ochiai directing and Noriaki Umewaka among the cast. The concept draws on Zeami's idea of "detached seeing" (riken no ken), and the stage's hashigakari bridge and pine-painted backdrop become part of the performance.
