Sumiyume Dance Parade: SUMIBON

Inspired by Hokusai’s painting of a joyful dancing procession, this event invites everyone to freely express themselves through dance for a day. No need to be perfect, coordinated, or polished—everyone is welcome, regardless of skill. The program features familiar festival tunes as well as folk songs from across Japan, making participation easy and enjoyable for all. By joining hands in a circle dance, participants together create a communal work of art. People of all ages and backgrounds are invited to join and make autumn memories at this inclusive bon dance celebration.
