Since the Meiji era, Japanese literature has flourished with diverse genres such as translated works, historical novels, science fiction, and proletarian literature. Writers like Futabatei Shimei, who pioneered modern written Japanese, and Haruo Oshikawa, known for adventure novels, gathered in Tabata to form a vibrant literary community. Through friendly rivalry, they created many unique works. This exhibition introduces the literature produced by these Tabata authors and how their works were received, featuring various historical materials.
